Who we are

Oscar Bustamante and Modesta Urcelay bought the farm “Santa Rosa de Lavaderos” in the early 1940s (they were raised in farms near-by). They passed away, and now we are striving to keep this wonderful place, we are a big family.

There is a strong relation with the community. We strive to make an agriculture as sustainable as possible.

With great effort, we have about 400 hectares of protected land bordering the Maule River; recently a member of the family conducted a study to count its different species of plants and animals. Is an area considered as a hotspot for biodiversity, which is under-represented in the Chilean system of National Parks, fortunately it was unaffected by the summer of 2017 wildfires (though similar forests in the region didn´t had the same luck).
